Webinar WP8 Carbonium

As part of its WP8, the targeted CARBONIUM project is organising a webinar on carbon modelling in the land-sea continuum on 19 March between 10am and 12pm.

The aim of the CARBONIUM project is to contribute to a better understanding of the carbon cycle at the interface between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems (surface waters, wetlands), at the interface between continental surfaces and the oceans (coastal ecosystems, estuaries), and along river systems ensuring the land-sea continuum.

The aim of this Webinar is to

1- Identify the models and data available to create the IT infrastructure for WP8.

2- Choose sites other than the Seine pilot site. In order to make this choice, 3 short presentations will be given, leaving time for questions/discussions.

3- Describe how carbon forms are taken into account in the RIVE biogeochemical process model.

4- Integrate RIVE into aquatic continuum models including aquifers, lakes/reservoirs (CaWaQS, SWAT, PROSE-PA, PyNuts-Riverstrahler, Barman, etc.).

5- Identify terrestrial constraints on Man-Earth-Sea continuum models in terms of carbon (data available or in the process of being acquired).

Colleagues who would like to present their tools and candidates for the IT infrastructure are invited to contact the organisers: Nicolas Flipo: nicolas.flipo@minesparis.psl.eu; Josette Garnier: josette.garnier@upmc.fr; Vincent Thieu: vincent.thieu@upmc.fr
