FairCarboN provides a series of ‘ecosystems’ slides, specially designed to support lecturers, students and professionals in their work on ecosystems and their role in carbon sequestration.

These teaching resources provide a clear and well-researched overview of current knowledge on the key role ecosystems play in combating climate change. They include data, explanatory diagrams and practical examples to help you explore the mechanisms by which ecosystems capture and store carbon.

Grasslands: 

Grasslands, which account for 40 per cent of the world’s land area and two-thirds of agricultural land, store around 20 per cent of the world’s soil organic carbon. Explore the carbon storage mechanisms of this ecosystem through the resources below.
