In addition to the programme’s lead institutions, CNRS and INRAE, this committee brings together representatives from the main research organisations involved in the projects (IRD, CIRAD and CEA), two universities (Aix‑Marseille University and Université Paris‑Saclay), and the Agralife programme agency. It played a key role in shaping the targeted projects and calls for proposals, notably by ensuring a balanced representation of disciplines and research fields, particularly with regard to North–South collaborations.

Initially convened two to three times a year, it is now consulted once annually. Its current role is to provide strategic insight and support for ongoing actions.
