Recruitments

The professional equality and anti-discrimination policy of the PEPR FairCarboN builds on the action plans implemented by its lead institutions, INRAE and CNRS, which coordinate the programme, as well as by the French National Research Agency (ANR), which administers it (https://jobs.inrae.fr/en/news/equality-and-diversity-policy ; https://carrieres.cnrs.fr/en/diversity-and-equality/ ; https://anr.fr/en/latest-news/read/news/the-french-national-research-agency-rolls-out-an-action-plan-for-gender-equality-and-gender-mainstre/?tx_news_pi1%5Baction%5D=detail&tx_news_pi1%5Bcontroller%5D=News&cHash=fc33d42d1d8b5d4890fca0e943854ff3 ). These action plans promote professional equality by:

  •  addressing gender equality issues, with particular attention to gender pay gaps;
  • preventing discrimination, as well as sexual harassment and gender-based violence; and
  • fostering open, fair, and inclusive recruitment practices.

Offre d'emploi DEEP-C :

Postdoctoral researcher

Start date: autumn 2026 for 2 years! The start date is open to discussion.

The postdoctoral researcher will work on the development and application of a process-based lake model to simulate lake carbon, CO2 and CH4 budgets in response to changes in climate and allochthonous inputs of sediment, carbon – both organic and inorganic – and nutrients. After model development, calibration and evaluation against observational data, the model will be emulated using machine-learning techniques and applied at large spatial scales, from Europe to the global scale, and over long temporal scales, covering the last 5,000 years.

For this position, we are looking for an early-career researcher with a PhD in a relevant field and experience in process-based modelling. Proven skills in coding and advanced statistics, including machine learning, would be an advantage.

If you are interested, please contact ronny.lauerwald@inrae.fr for more information. If you know potential applicants, please feel free to forward this email.
