The FairCarboN program benefits from the dynamics of the national community spread across various institutions, as well as from the strengths of research frameworks both within metropolitan France and overseas, and on an international scale, particularly in Southern countries. FairCarboN aims to elevate France's scientific leadership to the highest international level on this strategic theme and to contribute to France's expertise and support for public policies due to its openness to key stakeholders. The mobilization of this broad scientific community through this ambitious program is a prerequisite for accurately assessing the potential contribution of continental ecosystems to mitigating climate change, without which the objective of the Paris Agreement is unattainable.

To achieve this goal, FairCarboN had to establish a solid structure and adopt efficient governance.
