FairCarboN welcomes 5 new projects

We are delighted to welcome five new projects to FairCarboN. Winners of the Wave 2 call for projects, these five projects will be funded over 5 years for a total of €6 million!

CLIM-FAS, aims to improve knowledge of the mitigation potential of the agricultural sector and its contribution to the fight against climate change, and to generate scientific evidence of the economic and legal effectiveness of a range of public actions to encourage and accelerate the implementation of mitigation solutions.

  • Project manager : Kamel Elouhichi
  • Project coordinated by : INRAE

CO2CM_Phi, studies CO2 capture and fixation in aquatic photosynthetic microorganisms (green algae, diatoms and cyanobacteria) to understand the molecular factors involved in CO2 fixation, in order to propose solutions for bio-inspired CO2 capture.

  • Project manager : Hélène Launay
  • Project coordinated by : CNRS

GREENSCALE, studies how plants adapt to climate change by modulating carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration through photosynthesis.

  • Project leaders : Jean Alric and Fabien Chardon
  • Project coordinated by : CEA

PREFALIM, will study how changes in behavior and food preferences can reduce agricultural GHG emissions and enhance soil carbon storage.

  • Project manager : Fabrice Etile
  • Project coordinated by : CNRS

RhizoSeqC, aims to work on intensive agrosystems to switch field crop soils from carbon destocking to carbon storage, and to better quantify the contribution and efficiency of plant roots and rhizosphere to organic matter sequestration.

  • Project manager : Isabelle Basile Doelsch
  • Project coordinated by : CNRS
